LANSING, Mich. — Rep. Steve Frisbie spent the past week serving families across Calhoun County, partnering with local organizations to support food access, youth outreach, and substance abuse prevention efforts.

Frisbie volunteered at the South Michigan Food Bank, where he helped pack boxes of food for residents in need. The food bank continues to serve as a critical resource for families facing hardship as inflation and rising costs strain household budgets.

He also joined McDonald’s and New Level Sports in distributing Thanksgiving turkeys to families across the area. The annual effort provides hundreds of local residents with the ability to enjoy a full holiday meal.

Frisbie additionally presented two tributes honoring former county commissioner Art Kale and Dr. Harry Bonner for their longstanding service and leadership within the area’s Substance Abuse Prevention Coalitions. Both men have played key roles in strengthening community partnerships and expanding local prevention resources.

“Serving this community is one of the greatest privileges of my life,” Frisbie said. “Calhoun County is full of people who invest their time, their talent, and their heart into helping their neighbors. I’m grateful for every chance to support their work.”
